Among all electrical aspects on board super yachts we specialize in synchronizing on board power sources into one reliable grid. Providing power on request solutions, backup systems and easy to work with power management platform.
The basic idea behind synchronization of different power sources into the grid did not change for quite a while. It is to provide electric network with more capacity, redundancy and reliability.
Using standard mechanical synchronization requires electronic injection pumps, governor changes, tons of emails to be interchanged with generators’ vendors in order to receive the answer, that “it’s not easy to synchronize those generators and it will be expensive and the installation may not work as expected”. Phoenix Connect’s Vessel Synchronization System does not require the above.
We propose different, simpler solution.
Allows to include any onboard generator set into the system without any additional mechanical changes.
Can be increased by adding power banks acting as an additional power source with its full power capacity within milliseconds.
Allows to expand the solution to include other onboard structures eg. shore converters, additional backup energy banks, etc.
Enables smooth power source clutching, declutching and power balancing depending on the needs.
Diversifies the load on various synchronised modules giving you an extra layer of protection.
Key element of VSS – eases up the necessity of constant load monitoring and automatically manages necessities to keep the grid stable.
Provides ultra-low noise operation and minimizes power losses.
A holistic approach in an early stage of refit will help out to minimize the number of additional devices like shore converters to be installed. That part can be overtaken by VSS minimizing space and unifying the system. Depending on required power and energy consumption, a battery bank can replace the necessity of refitting yet another generator set. That brings you the possibility of peak shaving by providing energy on demand, backup system in case of mechanical failure, etc

As every living body, the network needs strong and reliable backbone. Expanding market of available products gives every day more possibilities to achieve so, if properly selected. Nowadays, with increasing amount of data being kept in the clouds, most of personal devices connected to the on board internet ASAP, it is mandatory to keep the network healthy and reliable at all times.
Our network engineer’s knowledge and experience starts from the very university degree, throughout enterprise infrastructure ending up on board super yachts with guests having a very important FaceTime while lying on the beach 300m away from the yacht in the middle of the Pacific Ocean

That’s where it all started when Phoenix Connect was founded. From various fixed terminal installations around the globe and over 80 maritime VSAT systems involved in. Starting from 60cm maritime dishes up to 7m diameter VFD motorized antennas, we’ve developed a full spectrum of services where traditional landline or cellular means are not an option. We understand how critical the external communication is and under what pressure the engineers are when problems occur. That’s why we make this extra mile to ensure delivery of a reliable solution and smooth future operations.
